The International Forum on Energy Transitions was co-hosted by the National Energy Administration, the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in Suzhou city of Jiangsu Province on Nov. 6, 2015. The forum aims at responding to calling of energy revolution put forward by the Party Central Committee, taking an active part and assist global energy system transition and structure adjustment, deeply discuss challenges and problems faced by Chinese energy revolution, creating idea of global energy in China and promoting each government to reach an agreement on global energy transition. 800 people, Minister of Energy Department from many countries over the world, global large-scale energy enterprises, international organizations and research institutes representatives, have attended to this forum, discussing opportunities and challenges existed during the energy transition together.
The forum opening was hosted by Vice-Director of National Energy Administration, Wang Yong—the State Council committee councilor, Shamshad Akhtar—UN Deputy Secretary-General &Executive secretary of ESCAP have attended to the forum opening and gave speeches. H.E. Nur· Bekri—Director of National Energy Administration, Li Xueyong, Deputy Secretary & Governor of Jiangsu Province, Adnan· Amin—Director General of IRENA, Rainer Baake—Secretary of State of German Federal Economic and Energy Department, Morten Beak—Minister of Denmark Energy Agency have attended to the opening ceremony and gave keynote speech in regard to “Development &tendency of global energy transition”. Experts and enterprise representatives attended to the forum have given keynote speeches in regard to “Development practice and action of global energy transition” after the opening ceremony has been completed.

Based on the world and with keynote speeches, minister forum, enterprise forum, private interview, sub-forum, etc. in accordance with “global energy transition and Chinese energy reformation” held during the course of conference, guests on forum have tried to build communication, interview and cooperation platforms in regard to further energy development and transition, discussed challenges and opportunities faced by global energy development, shared technological innovation and excellent practice of clean energy and environmental protection industry, given basis and idea for governments over the world, industrial organizations and commerce elites in the field of sustainable development so as to build new cooperation mode and mechanism to help the global, especially Chinese energy transition and sustainable development. The three-day forum have shown many wonderful things such as high-class governmental forum of energy transition, leaders’ interview of energy transition enterprise, transitions of renewable energy and power industry, demand and energy transition, G20 international energy cooperation, fossil energy transition ways and policy orientations, energy internet, financial innovation and energy transition, etc.
