BE Clean Energy to install 50 MW in eastern China

Beijing Enterprises Clean Energy (BECE) has signed a development agreement with the authorities in Weishan county, Shandong province, to build the solar project in the city of Jining.

The company will operate the 520 million yuan ($75.8 million) plant upon completion, according to a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

It is being developed under the Top Runner program, a government scheme to raise technological and quality standards in the Chinese PV industry.

BECE said it may be required to integrate the installation with agricultural and fisheries facilities, but did not reveal additional details, such as the PV module supplier.

It will start construction within the next two months and plans to complete the PV plant by the end of September.

Last month, BECE started working on a 200 MW array in Jinzhai county in central China’s Anhui province. It is investing 1.4 billion yuan in the project.

It also agreed to provide EPC services for 335 MW of rooftop solar capacity that ReneSola is developing throughout China.
